About the Training:
Induction training is designed to help the farmer get to know the project, learn more about their involvement and make the most of the opportunities.
You will learn about:
- How Waters of LIFE works and why farmers have such a vital role
- Habitats: How nature helps water quality and how we fund space for nature on your farm.
- General Actions and Supporting Actions: Farm level and field level actions that put the right measure in the right place.
We’ll also learn from you. We’ll be asking farmers about custodianship and how we can continue to build our programme with the farmers’ needs in mind.
These events are indoor in a group setting. You will be invited to attend a number of field-based events throughout your time in the programme.
Tea/Coffee and Sandwiches served.
Conditions:
Induction Training is only open to farmers who have already signed a contract for the Waters of LIFE Agri-Environmental Programme.
Participation in induction training is mandatory. Non-attendance will lead to a 10% reduction on all payments for a 12 month period. More information is available on this in the terms and conditions booklet. Farmers who missed training in Year 1 should make arrangements to attend in 2026 to avoid further reductions.
You only need to attend ONE induction training event. The reason for multiple dates is to manage group size and provide options where feasible.
If you cannot attend, you can nominate a family member or farm worker to attend on your behalf. The nominee’s attendance is subject to approval by the project.
