Waters of LIFE and Bord Bia are to host online training on AgNav for approved advisors. Training will take place online on Thursday December 4th 2025 at 11:00.

What is AgNav?

AgNav is a national online interactive digital platform developed by Teagasc, Bord Bia and the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation.

AgNav calculates nitrogen and phosphorus surpluses for the farm.

How does it work as a general action for Waters of LIFE?

Nutrient surplus calculation using the AgNav app is a required general action on beef and dairy farms in the Awbeg and Shournagh sub-catchments only.

Programme participants receive €250 per year for their time in nutrient surplus assessment and preparing a farm plan.

The advisor helps the farmer to pull together information on farm gate inputs and outputs of nitrogen and phosphorus. Examples of outputs include sales of milk, livestock and manures. Examples of inputs include purchased fertiliser, feeds, livestock and imported organic manures.
