
Waters of LIFE Tree Planting Farm Walk in Cork
Waters of LIFE are co-hosting a walk on farm walk on tree planting on Tuesday October 14th at the woodland site of Teagasc’s Animal and Grassland Research and Innovation Centre in Moorepark, Co. Cork.
The event will focus on supports and incentives for tree planting on local farmland. It will be led by register foresters Paddy Purser and Padraig O’Tuama, Teagasc forestry advisor John Casey and Waters of LIFE catchment scientist Fergal Scully.
Attendance is open to any owners of land used for farming including grazing, silage, tillage and horticulture.

Owners of farmland within the Awbeg (Kilbrin) and Shournagh sub-catchments will have access to additional supports from registered foresters Paddy Purser and Padraig O’Tuama through the Waters of LIFE project.
In addition to information on supports and incentives available to landowners, the event will also discuss the nature value of riverside tree planting and its impact on water quality.
Attendees will be welcome to ask questions of industry experts and gain valuable insights on the benefits and processes of native tree planting.
The walk and talk will take place outdoors with lots of examples of tree planting and riverside setbacks to see up close. Attendees are asked to dress for the conditions on the day.
Parking will be available in the main car park and a bus service will be provided to bring attendees to the woodland area.
Attendance is strictly limited so registration in advance is required. The event is free to attend.
