Waters of LIFE is inviting its agri-environmental programme participants to a Woodland Creation Walk and Talk on Tuesday May 5th in the Graney Sub-Catchment in East Clare.

About The Event:
The event will focus on supports and incentives for tree planting on local farmland.
Local farmer Connie Schmidt is hosting. Connie’s farm has a mix of forestry plots generated with the help of public funding.
Julius Silvan will talk through the incentives and funded benefits currently available for native woodland generation at a variety of scales. Julius is a member of the Waters of LIFE appointed Registered Forestry Team.

Waters of LIFE Catchment Ecologist Ruth Bennett Coady will explain how the project is actively supporting and funding farmers interested in tree planting and improving local water quality.
The event will also discuss the nature value of riverside tree planting.
Attendees will be welcome to ask questions of industry experts and gain valuable insights on the benefits and processes of native tree planting. Printed information will also be provided.
Conditions:
Numbers are strictly limited and advance registration is required. The Walk & Talk is only open to participants of the Waters of LIFE Programme. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. If the event is at capacity, you will be placed on a waiting list and an alternative event will be offered, subject to demand.
Due to site restrictions, attendees are asked to park and meet at Sacred Heart Church, Scariff at 6pm. A mini-bus will bring you to the farm (10 minute drive) and return you to the church by 8:45pm that evening.
The event is outdoors and will require walking on uneven ground. Attendees are asked to dress for the conditions.
